Everyone else had the day off today, but not me! I didn't mind though, it was a gorgeous sunny, 65 degree day. So I put on my shirtsleeve shirt and swept some roads. It's not much like work when you're staring clear at the Alaska Range! I got a little color on my arms and some vitamin d running through me. Like every other day, today was a good day. I down to south lookout to meet the campground hosts there. I hiked up the small trial there to get an unobscured view of Denali and the Chulitna River. Just gorgeous. A little fun fact for you all: the suffix -tna means river. So all the rivers end in that, I didn't even notice until I read about it myself! I am goin to try and learn so history while I'm out here because much like the native American's in the lower 48, their language is very interesting and much more straightforward than the English language.
The campground was getting busy today, although it still isn't official open. I think it's going to be a busy weekend and I'm looking forward to getting into more of a routine. I hope to be able to post a lot more pictures once I can get them off my camera, but I need Internet access first. I am going to try and go to Princess lodge tomorrow night. It is a lodge associated with Princess cruise lines, but it is located at the entrance of the park. A beautiful lodge with nice views too, look it up online!
Well it's looks like I'll once again be falling asleep to the drone of a float plane; no complaints here!
