Caretaker Cottage

So here I am, I've finally made it to my destination for the summer and can unpack my bags! I was given the option to stay at Vets Memorial in the caretaker cottage this summer. They liked the idea of having someone to watch over the place, because it is one of the busiest spots in the park. I am being spoiled here with full amenities! Maybe tomorrow will be the first morning I'll wake up and won't see my breath, but I didn't actually mind those rustic past few days! I might now be in a cabin with heat and hot water, but I'm still in bear country!
I have great views from both the front and back door of my cabin. On one side Denali and the Alaska range, and on the other Byers lake. Byers still has ice on it and there is plenty of snow on the ground still! It's said that Denali is only visible 20% of the time, but I've seen it both days I've been here and the forecast looks clear for a few more days! I'm hoping for a sunny, mild summer, with many morning noon and night views of Denali.
Tonight I am heading back down to the ranger station for another campfire with the crew. Like I've said before everyone is so nice here and makes you feel invited! Looking forward to hearing more stories and getting to know everyone a bit more!
