So today we started cleaning out vets memorial for the ceremony this Sunday. There will be a 100 motorcycles and a helicopter here to honor Alaskan veterans and veterans across America. Believe it or not I had to shovel snow today, didn't have to do that in Maine this winter. We also had to rake leaves and sweep the walkways. After cleaning up a bit Chris and I hiked out to the bride that crosses Byers Creek. It needs some repair work done so he had to write up and incident report. We hiked along the lake and the ice is out around the edge and very thin and grey though the middle. The trail has a lot of hazard trees down due to heavy snow and wind this past winter. If you all didn't know, Alaska broke records for snowfall this winter, and there is still significant cover in some areas. On our hike back out we saw fresh bear scat, but still no bear :(.
I have just been enjoying the rest of my evening playing some games on my laptop and reading The Lucky One.
I would like to say HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to my best friend Cathy! Also a HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY to Margaret! I love you girls and we will celebrate accordingly when I return (:
OMG that bridge is narrow! Love, love reading your blogs!
